Mission and Vision

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW), founded October 1, 1955, is the largest and most recognized membership organization of Professional social workers in the world. Representing members from 55 chapters in the United States and abroad, the Association promotes, develops, and protects the practice of social work and social workers. The NASW Idaho Chapter is a state chapter of the NASW. As of early 2026, the Idaho Chapter had approximately 450 members.

Mission Statement: The Idaho Chapter will provide leadership to promote the social work profession, exemplify and support ethical and knowledgeable practice, and positively impact social justice for all.

Vision StatementThe Idaho Chapter of NASW will be a powerful and dynamic force for social change by supporting and developing the profession of social work in all Idaho communities.

 

Regions and Membership Distribution

The Idaho Chapter is divided into six regions: Far North, North, South West, South Central, South East, and Capitol (Select Zip Codes). Each Region has a board member representative serving that region.
