NASW Idaho Working Committees
NASW Idaho Chapter members are strongly encouraged to participate in our working committees. Our committees are literally how NASW Idaho serves its mission and reaches its goals. Join like-minded individuals across Idaho working to make positive change today!
What is Expected from Committee Members?
Each committee is comprised of a chair and committee members. Committee members must be
NASW members in good standing (
position description coming soon!).

Policy and Advocacy
Chairperson: Megan Dardis-Kunz
Purpose: To advocate for and protect the integrity, sustainability, and equity of the social work profession by engaging in legislative and Idaho Board of Social Work Examiners policy work, as well as public education.
Projects of Focus:
- Legislative Education and Action Day (LEAD)
- Policy and Social Justice Action Alerts
Meeting Schedule: The 2nd Friday of each month from 10:00-11:00am Mountain Time.
Membership Connections & Student Engagement
Chairperson: Maria Torres
Purpose: To build strong connections with our members, help with member recruitment and retention, and enhance the value of NASW membership.
Projects of Focus:
- Building student connections
- Hosting membership gatherings and networking opportunities
- Building up and ensuring value for members
Meeting Schedule: The 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:30-6:30pm Mountain Time.
Professional Development
Chairperson: Jessica Chilcott
Purpose: To ensure high-quality and low-cost continuing education and educational opportunities aligned with the NASW Code of Ethics.
Projects of Focus:
- Virtual and in-person CE events
- Provide a CE Approval Program
Meeting Schedule: The 4th Friday of each month from 9:00-10:00am Mountain Time.
